Long Three State Drive.....

We started our day in Lebanon Mo at 11am and ended the days driving in Tulsa Oklahoma over 400 Route 66 miles.  The day was beautiful, warm and sunny. We had the sunroof open as we cruised the entire day. The road was straightforward and mostly easy to follow. We passed old rusted bridges, towns that time forgot, flat clean road, neon sign motels, and wonderful preserved small tows with plenty of photo opportunities. As it was a holiday weekend, we had the road to ourselves.
Here we go....

Carthage:  was the site of a major Civil War Battle. The main square was center around a French Renaissance Court House building with lots of greenery.  The stores were mostly all closed for the day. It was the kind of quiet that we felt like we work up in a Dystopian novel where all the people were gone but us.  There was a bric-in-brac placed open and man did it have a lot of stuff. I am glad I cannot fit anything in my bag and refuse to carry another bag otherwise I would be buying more stuff, signs, postcards, frames etc.  Gary the only guy in the store was helpful in giving us some town history.  We walked around a bit and got in the car and travel to Joplin Mo where I got this photo of their old theater.

I told Bill I can either get more of you in the photo or the building, he said "Get the Building"
