Sarah called me to let me know that Bill left his medication on the kitchen table. We would Fed-Ex it but to where? I have no idea where we will end up or how long it takes to get anywhere since we are not using the interstate. I picked Cuba, Missouri. I was told it was about a 4 1/2 hour drive. I figured that was doable, add in lunch, coffee stops and we should get there no problem. Little did I know after leaving Pontiac IL at 11am we would not arrive in Cuba, Mo until a little after 8 pm. Te weather was raining, the Mother Road even with maps was difficult to follow. So we got lost numerous times which is not a bad thing but with the dark skies I wanted to reach the motel before dark. I have a hard time driving in the dark, especially on a road like 66.
The good news is we made our motel right at when it was getting dark, an iconic motel called the Wagon Wheel Motel, we made a great lunch stop at the Route 66 Hotel place called Yesterday's Diner and some great photos of stops I made regardless of the time factor. We benefit from the experience, you benefit from the photos and dad's meds should be there tomorrow or the next day.
Everybody wins!
